Chef Phil Cameron, originally from Ottawa, Ontario is currently the Executive Chef and proud owner of Chef Phil Cameron’s a Fine dinning experience. Chef Phil has been cooking professionally for over 10 years following the professional training he obtained at La Cité’s Culinary management program concentrating on Classical French cuisine and managing restaurants.

While in College, Chef Phil started a small catering company called Phil-up My Belly and worked at the Parliamentary Food Production Facility. After college, Chef Phil worked as a line cook at the Fairmount Château Laurier and was the Chef at a restaurant named The Vanitea Room. Chef Jud Simpson then asked Chef Phil to work at the Parliamentary restaurant as a line cook.

Chef Phil  then went on to accept the position of Executive Chef at the German embassy in Ottawa. During that time, he was a proud member of Culinary Team Canada where he traveled to Germany for the culinary Olympics. This started his journey in the international cooking scene.

Since, he has traveled to Dubai where he represented Canada at the 2020 world expo in the kitchen at the Canadian Pavilion. Chef Phil is proud to call Ottawa his home and is continuously working to better the community by volunteering at Food for Thought and The Ottawa Mission. He is also currently the Chef President of the Culinary Federation.
He is continuously working hard to improve his talents as a Chef and finding new and creative menus to serve.

Chef Phil is proud to have been on Culinary Team Canada at the 2020
Culinary Olympics and has won first place at the 2019 “Espoirs
Culinaires de la Région de la capital national » (Ottawa cooking
competition). Chef Phil proudly represented Canada in the kitchen at the Canadian pavilion at the 2020 Dubai World Expo. He has also won
the King Cole Duck “Duck you’re it” challenge twice and won the Faces
Magazine best Chef of the year award 2020.

We had the chance to have Chef Phil and his team cater our wedding this past summer, and everything was fantastic! From the planning phase on, Phil was very easy to work with and responsive to all our questions. We worked together to build a menu of Canapés to be served during the cocktail reception, and every dish was executed perfectly. His team of waiters was very polite/professional and the service really exceeded our expectations. They cleaned up everything after the event and our place was left spotless. Thanks again Phil for playing a part in our special day, and making it stress free for both of us. Great guy, great food, great service. Ps. I've been fortunate enough to engage Phil a few times; first to help my clients celebrate their milestones with a five-course dinner, and last week with a party for 24 for my wife's 40th. I have never before worked with a Chef who was so dedicated and skilled AND friendly and easy to work with. His dishes speak for themselves but his personality will keep you working with him over and over. Why a meal with Phil is awesome: - He'll build around your requirements. A couple of months ahead of the date, he and I discussed the proteins that we were building around, any dietary restrictions, and he came back with an amazing suggested menu with a great mix of complementary flavours. He did three courses for us, but he can do parties of any size and has done five-course meals for my clients as well, always to rave reviews. - He knows more than just the food - If desired, he'll suggest the perfect wine pairings for your meals. - He makes it easy - Phil and his team brought all of the dishes, cutlery, glassware and napkins along with the food. He was able to work in the kitchen on-site (we were at a nice cottage in Lac Ste-Marie, QC) with everything prepared, which he finished and plated on-site. All that I had to do was make sure that there were enough tables and chairs for our guests. - Gorgeous presentation - See the photos - Professional and humble - Phil doesn't come with the huge ego that you often hear about with other high-profile chefs (check out the awards on his website!) His team was friendly, fabulous and Phil came out between each course to tell us about what went into each dish. Our meal (photos included): Appetizer - Pan seared Haloumi cheese served with a baby heirloom tomato and beet salad, Chive oil, baby tomato jam and grapefruit pearls Main - 24 hour beef short ribs served on a bead of creamy goat cheese mashed potatoes, heirloom carrots and beef jus. Dessert - Freshly picked apple terrine with vanilla mille-feuille, dulce de leche and crème Chantilly The flavours: Appetizer - Perfect balance of savoury and sweet. Something about the chive oil and the haloumi was magical. Main - The short ribs fell right off the bone with a touch of the fork. Perfect. I was shocked at how good the veggies and mash were too, not just window dressing! As one friend said "now I'm going to mash everything with goat cheese after this." Dessert - Delicate and sweet. The honeycomb flourish made it beautiful to look at, too. Paired perfectly with some aged port. Thank you, Phil! You'll be hearing from me again many times in the future!

We hired Chef Phil to cater 15 lunches for 50 people over the course of a month. We were consistently impressed by his care, creativity and culinary expertise. On Saturday May 14th we had the pleasure of having Chef Phil come and cook the most wonderful 6 course meal for a group of 10 for my husbands 60th birthday at our cottage.
