Where It All Began

Chef Phil Cameron, originally from Ottawa, Ontario is currently the Executive Chef and proud owner of Chef Phil Cameron’s a Fine dinning experience. Chef Phil has been cooking professionally for over 10 years following the professional training he obtained at La Cité’s Culinary management program concentrating on Classical French cuisine and managing restaurants.

While in College, Chef Phil started a small catering company called Phil-up My Belly and worked at the Parliamentary Food Production Facility. After college, Chef Phil worked as a line cook at the Fairmount Château Laurier and was the Chef at a restaurant named The Vanitea Room. Chef Jud Simpson then asked Chef Phil to work at the Parliamentary restaurant as a line cook.

Chef Phil  then went on to accept the position of Executive Chef at the German embassy in Ottawa. During that time, he was a proud member of Culinary Team Canada where he traveled to Germany for the culinary Olympics. This started his journey in the international cooking scene.

Since, he has traveled to Dubai where he represented Canada at the 2020 world expo in the kitchen at the Canadian Pavilion. Chef Phil is proud to call Ottawa his home and is continuously working to better the community by volunteering at Food for Thought and The Ottawa Mission. He is also currently the Chef President of the Culinary Federation.
He is continuously working hard to improve his talents as a Chef and finding new and creative menus to serve.

Awards & Recognition

Chef Phil is proud to have been on Culinary Team Canada at the 2020
Culinary Olympics and has won first place at the 2019 “Espoirs
Culinaires de la Région de la capital national » (Ottawa cooking
competition). Chef Phil proudly represented Canada in the kitchen at the Canadian pavilion at the 2020 Dubai World Expo. He has also won
the King Cole Duck “Duck you’re it” challenge twice and won the Faces
Magazine best Chef of the year award 2020.
