Where It All Began

Chef Phil Cameron, originally from Ottawa, Ontario is currently the Executive Chef at the German ambassador’s Residence in Ottawa.

Chef Cameron has been cooking professionally for almost 10 years following the professional training he obtained at La Cité Collégial’s Culinary management program concentrating on Classical French cuisine and managing a restaurant. While in College, Chef Cameron started a small catering company called Phil-up My Belly and worked at the Parliamentary Food Production Facility. After college, Chef Cameron worked as a line cook at the Fairmount Château Laurier and was the Chef at a restaurant named  The Vanitea Room for a little over a year.  Chef Jud Simpson then asked Chef Cameron to work at the Parliamentary restaurant as a line cook.

Chef  Cameron worked that job for a year and then accepted the position Executive Chef at the German ambassador’s Residence in Ottawa. He is actively working hard to improve his talents as a Chef, and is teaching a class at La Cité Collégial and volunteering at local non for profit organisations.

Awards & Recognition

Chef Cameron is proud to have been on Culinary Team Canada at the 2020 Culinary Olympics and has won first place at the 2019 “Espoirs Culinaires de la Région de la capital national » (Ottawa cooking competition). He is passionate about his career and helping the culinary industry. He is currently the Young Chef President of the Culinary Federation of Ottawa.
